BARCELONA: Barcelona loaned former Turkish international Arda Turan to Istanbul Basaksehir for the rest of the season and the next two seasons, the general of the Spanish league leaders today.
Turan joined The Catalan from Atletico Madrid with a move of 34 million euros (RM164.7 million) in July 2015, winning six trophies but only making 55 appearances and scoring 15 goals.
The Spanish newspaper, last week estimated Barcelona paying Turan's salary of 8 million euros (RM38.7 million) a year.
"During this period, Barcelona has the right to lend a player to the club owned by UEFA (European Football Union) and will earn a proper fee based on the player's performance.
"Meanwhile, Istanbul Basaksehir has the right to buy players from Barcelona," Barcelona's statement said.
Turan announced retirement from Turkey's national squad in June 2017. - AFP
